Terms of service

The plain-English rules for using Scan That Stay. Short on purpose - there's no small print hiding anything.

Who you're dealing with

Scan That Stay is a trading name of That Group Company Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 15564505). By creating an account or subscribing, you're agreeing to these terms. If you have questions, email hello [at] thatgroupco [dot] com.

What the service is

Each property you add gets its own page - wifi, house notes, local tips - reached by a QR code your guests scan. Guests need no app and no account. You manage everything from the dashboard at dash.scanthatstay.com.

Price and payment

Cancelling

You can cancel anytime from the billing page in your dashboard - no notice period, no exit forms. When you cancel, your property pages are unpublished: anyone scanning a printed code sees a polite paused page rather than your content. Nothing you wrote is deleted, so if you resubscribe, everything comes straight back. None of this affects your statutory rights.

Your content

Everything you write on your pages stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the guests who scan your codes - that's the only thing we do with it. You're responsible for what you publish: make sure it's accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it's the sort of thing you'd be happy for any guest to read.

Acceptable use

Use the service for guest information about places you genuinely host. Don't use it to publish anything unlawful, misleading, or harmful; don't try to break, probe, or overload the service; and don't use it to collect other people's personal data. If an account is used that way, we can suspend it - though following our own rule, we still won't delete your data.

Availability

We work hard to keep guest pages fast and always up, and the service is built so that a printed code keeps resolving to something helpful. But no online service can promise perfection: we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and occasionally maintenance or problems at our providers may cause downtime. We'll always aim to fix things quickly.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability we can't exclude by law - such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we're not liable for indirect losses such as lost bookings, lost profits, or lost data caused by events outside our reasonable control. The service delivers your information to guests; you remain responsible for your property and your guests.

Changes to these terms

If we make a meaningful change to these terms, we'll update this page, change the date at the top, and let subscribers know by email before the change affects them. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel - as ever, anytime.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute - though if you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you keep the protection of your local law and courts.
